Lenke Harcsa lives and works as an artist in Calgary, making and teaching Ceramics and Visual Art. Her love of ceramics began in early childhood while making pots out of clay with her father and it continues to this day.
She began her art education studying Sculpture at ACAD (now Alberta University), where she completed her BFA, followed by a MFA from York University. In graduate school, ceramics started to accompany the more physically demanding construction of sculptures and the slow, meditative process of wheel throwing, in particular, enhanced the tactile and intuitive connections she felt between artist and material.
In her ceramic studio practice, Lenke seeks to bring some of these connections to others through functional ceramic pieces that provide a comfortable and inviting experience.
